5 years ago, on October 1, 2013, Rockstar Games opened doors to the much anticipated online version of Grand Theft Auto V. The start wasn’t the smoothest as besides Lamar, the first players arriving in Los Santos were greeted by many bugs and glitches. However, this was also a simple time before all the quirky weaponized vehicles and hyper inflation. This was a time when a competitive sports car cost only around $100 000; when the most dangerous thing was a tank slowly lurking around the corner or a Lazer stolen in 10th try far from Fort Zancudo; when robbing a grocery store could still be counted as a viable source of income. Most of us can’t even imagine what it was like playing GTA Online back then.
This Monday, October 1, on GTA Online’s 5th anniversary, let’s attempt to reenact those “glory days” of the past. At 21:00 CEST, come to my apartment at Weasel Plaza, dressed as a newbie whose plane has just landed in Los Santos (this will probably be the first and only time when there are as many people at my place as in the GTA Online trailer 😛 ). Maybe you even remember how your own character looked like when you started playing GTA. If you also ‘member or still have your first car that you stole or bought then bring it along.
First we’ll hold our traditional outfit contest and then it’s time for some fun free roam activities. We will rob stores, try to do some fun glitches, if there are any, and hopefully a few other things. For the continuation of the party I have put together a nice playlist with some jobs from the early days.
See you at the party, folks!
