KeymasterI’ve done some changes to the wordpress plugins to fix an issue some of you were having with posting comments on blog posts. If you still observe any issues, just let me know. Also the website should be slightly faster, but I’ll keep monitoring this closely in the next few weeks.

KeymasterI’ve reactivated the plugin that was causing comments issues; wordpress was updated recently so I hope the issue is gone. As a plus, galleries should be easier to navigate again. The website might be potentially slightly slower again, however (haven’t noticed a big difference yet).

ParticipantI don’t notice any slowdowns, but I’ll keep an eye out.
Doesn’t WordPress or the hosting provider provide any response time monitoring tool thingy or something? So it’s easier to check up on. Not suggesting you should add one, just wondering if it’s not included by default.February 14, 2018 at 7:30 pm #8378mattiejas
KeymasterThanks. That’s a good suggestion about monitoring. There might be something builtin in wordpress, good point. So far, I’ve been monitoring the site for over a year now with https://gtmetrix.com/ – seems to do the job. Will take a few weeks before I can make any hard conclusions (the free version of gtmetrix only does a daily measurement, but I don’t think we really need more than that anyway).

ParticipantI took a look at that service, look pretty good. It even gives you some suggestions on what to do to improve performance. For a free service, I think it’s quite nice. Good call Mattie. When you look back at the performance, anything that stands out?

KeymasterNah, nothing too seriously. From my own experience, working with the dashboard is quite a bit slower with jetpack, but it seems not to affect regular users too much from what I see on gtmetrix, and also not from what others are saying.
