website: enable automatic blog subscription on registration?

At the moment, if you register on the website, you’re not automatically subcribed to the blog. In fact at this moment nobody is subscribed to the blog. 🙂 I think it would make sense and there are probably some wordpress addons to make all registered users also blog subscribers (i.e. getting email alerts on new blog posts). What do you guys & girls think about it? Makes sense? Or not?

(Aside, we now have a proper login widget & lists of recent blog posts and forum topics on the sidebar; this should make the website feel a bit more alive and help us keeping track of what’s going on.)

Yep, actually after some more thinking about it I came to the same conclusion that it would be better not to spam folks unless they choose to. Thanks for raising your voice on this.

If you see other opportunities for improving the way we do things with the website (layout, content, etc.) do speak up! One thing I will do at some point is add some guides e.g. for criminal mastermind & elite challenges, and maybe for a few more things (not sure yet whether to do this as part of the forum, as part of the blog, or just as plain static content… too much choice! 🙂 ).
